Things to do in Tulameen and Otter Lake

Tulameen is a small recreational community in British Columbia, Canada. Located just a 3.5 hour drive from Vancouver, Tulameen is located at the south end of Otter Lake about 20 kilometres northwest of the town of Princeton and about 185 kilometres east from the city of Vancouver, British Columbia. This historic gold, platinum, and coal mining town is rapidly becoming one of BC’s more popular recreational areas. The area is a favourite spot for picnics, fishing, swimming, boating, and water skiing in the summer; and snowmobiling, skating, and cross country skiing in the winter.

Large numbers of otter, beaver and red squirrel inhabit the area, as well as deer, black bear and moose. The town has a General Store called the “Tulameen Trading Post”, with gas pumps, restaurant, post office and BC Liquor Store outlet. The community also has bike rentals (Crossroads Bike Rentals), community centre, outdoor skating rink, library, volunteer fire department, and skidoo dealer & repair centre. Enjoy the many trails in the area including the Trans Canada trail for hiking, bird watching, bniking, ATV’ing, and dirt bike riding. Perfect for all seasons, the Tulameen area in and surrounding Similkameen Valley is rich in history and natural beauty.
